seven sisters group is a London based contemporary dance and performance company.

seven sisters group focuses on communicating contemporary issues through new and idiosyncratic works that defy labelling. Their highly acclaimed projects are often site-specific and combine contemporary dance, installation, performance art and spoken word.

German born Artistic Director Susanne Thomas trained at London Contemporary Dance School and Middlesex University. Her artistic career began in Fashion Design and Visual Arts – this background informs her choreography and artistic collaborations. She was an Associate Artist at The Place, London in 1998/99 and received various awards from Carl Duisberg Gesellschaft (Germany) and London Arts. Susanne was nominated for the prestigious Jerwood Choreography Award in 2000.

Susanne founded seven sisters group in 1994 and has worked with teams of independent artists whose disciplines include theatre design (Sophie Jump, Rosa Freitas), fine art (Ed King), music (Phil Durrant, Martin Robinson) and video (Jane Hodge, Jamie Rory-Lucy and Ludi Andrews). The work is devised in collaboration with the group – current and previous performance members include Domingo Bermudez, Claire Burrell, Robert Cook, Carolyn Deby, Marie-Louise Flexen, Louise Hedley, Fred Gehrig, Chantal McCormick, Emma Teixidor, Heidi Rustgaard, Alice Sara, Esther Weisskopf.
